Lawsuit claims guacamole dip ‘just didn’t taste avocadoey’
A Los Angeles woman has filed a class-action lawsuit claiming that Kraft’s guacamole dip doesn’t have enough avocado in it.
“It just didn’t taste avocadoey,” complained plaintiff Brenda Lifsey, who used Kraft Dips Guacamole to make an ill-fated three-layer dip in 2005.
Lifsey is seeking unspecified damages and a court order barring Kraft from calling its product guacamole.
Kraft claims that the ingredients in the dip were clearly labeled on the package.
A spokesperson for the Food and Drug Administration says there are currently no federal regulations regarding how much avocado must be used in guacamole dip.

Man blames Arm & Hammer Baking Soda for jail sentence
A Virginia prisoner has filed a $425 million lawsuit against the maker of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, claiming the company should have warned him that using its product to manufacture crack cocaine could land him in jail.
The man’s lawsuit alleges that Arm & Hammer knows that its product is one of the main ingredients in crack, that the company profits indirectly from the crack trade, and that it should therefore warn people that they could go to prison.
Although Arm & Hammer does put warnings on its box about people who are on a sodium-restricted diet, the man claims the FDA should also require it to state: “The use of this product with illegal drugs is punishable by law.”

Woman fined $240 for taking too long to eat at McDonald’s
A British woman has been fined £125 — about $240 — for taking eight minutes too long to eat at McDonald’s.
A busy McDonald’s near Gatwick Airport imposed a 45-minute limit on customers. The woman in this case arrived with her husband, 7-year-old son and 15-month-old daughter and took 53 minutes to get through a meal.
The woman then received a “civil enforcement” fine notice in the mail.
She claims she didn’t know about the 45-minute limit, but McDonald’s insists it informed her of it. A McDonald’s spokesperson says the new time limit “is being well received by our customers.”

Shooting at videogame characters may be a crime in Germany
The German government is considering legislation that would make it a crime to harm characters in videogames.
Specifically, videogame players could be prohibited from engaging in “cruel violence” toward “human-looking characters.” Offenders could be sentenced to up to a year in jail.
Presumably, it would still be legal to shoot at monsters, goblins, aliens, etc., as long as they don’t look particularly human. Destroying menacing asteroids would also be acceptable.
The bill was introduced by the German states of Bavaria and Lower Saxony.

Tennessee Titans’ raccoon mascot in $20 million lawsuit
The Tennessee Titans football team has been sued for $20 million because its raccoon-like mascot hit an opposing quarterback with a golf cart.
The mascot, known as “T-Rac,” drove the cart into former New Orleans Saints quarterback Adrian McPherson at halftime in a pre-season game.
T-Rac was throwing items to fans and apparently didn’t see McPherson, who suffered a deep bruise to his knee.
McPherson was later cut by the Saints and signed with the Arena Football League. He blames the raccoon for ruining his career.
